However, the interview phase, which gives the Scholarships Committee members invaluable insights as to how these aspiring anthropologists, engineers, nurses, performing artists and physicians have defied overwhelming challenges to realize their dreams, was absent due to the COVID-19 virus. DVC classes are always standard grading or curved to your advantage (85% could be an A in certain classes/professors).Īlso, tell your son to use websites like RateMyProfessor to choose the right professor, as students give overall reviews of that professor’s ease of grading, quality of teaching ability, etc. In comparison at Berkeley, there can be really amazing professors, or absolutely neglecting ones that are only interested in their research work and don’t teach well, while the grading scale is sometimes a reverse curve in certain subjects (100% is an A, 95% is a B, 90% is a C on some tougher classes or professors). The professors are genuinely good quality and the grading scale is easier. ![]() Take as many transferable credits at DVC. I would say all the substitutes that are equivalent for transfer credits are easier grading at DVC in every subject.
